Joe joined French-Alcott in 2006 in an of counsel capacity after he retired from nearly twenty years of service with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Joe’s practice at French-Alcott is primarily based in various areas of Federal Law.

Before joining French-Alcott, Joe served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, and then First Assistant U.S. Attorney until the departure of Dan French from the Northern District Office, when he then served as Interim U.S. Attorney until 2002 and the appointment of Glenn Suddaby to that office by President Bush. While serving as Interim U.S. Attorney, Joe was responsible for and oversaw the work of all offices of the U.S. Attorney in Northern District of New York, with offices in Syracuse, Albany, and Binghamton.

Joe has spent nearly his entire career in the public sector. Prior to his tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s office, Joe served as a trial attorney and legal clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice, Land Acquisition Section, Land and Natural Resources Division.
